Why do I need independent inventory services?
As a landlord, letting agent or even tenant, you’ll already be aware of the ever-increasing importance of a detailed, independently-compiled inventory on any property being let; since the introduction of the various Deposit Protection Services, the burden of proof falls on the landlord to prove the necessity of any proposed deposit deduction.
The Tenancy Deposit Protection schemes, whilst having admirably decreased the number of unfair deposit claims, has unfortunately made it very difficult for Landlords to make successful claims for damages, dilapidations and cleaning.
